Aircraft Twirls Out of Control into Palm Trees at Frequented California Beach

An aircraft hovering above a well-attended coastal coastline suddenly began spiraling out of control, ultimately dropping height and smashing into a cluster of palm fronds as spectators observed.

Videos shared online depict the helicopter beginning to twirl near the shoreline then plunging in the direction of the border of the shore, where it ends up lodged between palms and a set of stairs near the Pacific Coast highway.

Emergency Response Update

Emergency responders reported five individuals were rushed to the hospital involving two individuals who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the incident on Saturday.

Three individuals on the pavement were injured. Specifics on their wounds were not yet released.

The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
