One teenage boy was found dead only a few days following being falsely accused of taking the cremated remains of a deceased baby during a break-in, a coroner's inquiry has heard.
Kai Lloyd's mother and father discovered his remains in his room at his Flintshire home on November 19th, 2021.
The investigation learned how his mother received a communication on 8 November 2021 via social media, from a woman asking if her son was her child. The communication stated: "Inform him appreciation for burgling my apartment."
In a testimony presented to the proceedings, Lisa Lloyd said the woman had been in the news, asserting her infant's ashes had been stolen in a break-in - a allegation which was untrue.
An investigation report from authorities later concluded the supposed burglary victim had "lied to police" and "evidence shows that said items was never taken in the first place".
News coverage about the alleged taken remains attracted social media responses, and although the teenager was not identified in the posts, his mother said people "knew it was him".
The "social media content were really distressing", she said.
She added that Kai had been diagnosed with mild ADHD, and as part of that disorder, other individuals' views genuinely were important to him.
"It would have hurt him deeply," she said, "especially when this was not true".
The teenager was arrested at his residence, but nothing was discovered. He was transported to a police station and later released under investigation.
Authorities said they would be in contact, the hearing learned, but had not reached out to the relatives by the moment of his death.
His mother said her son "withdrew into himself" after the arrest and "repeatedly inquired me whether I had received anything from the authorities", because his condition meant sometimes "certain periods could seem like much longer".
When she talked to him about the alleged incident, she said her son informed her he had gone into the residence because the resident who resided there had said he could utilize the bathroom whenever he needed, but refuted taking anything.
In a joint statement between her and her spouse, Mrs Lloyd said her child was being harassed digitally after the accusations.
The proceedings learned that one 19-year-old urged the teenager to end his life.
She had no worries on the night before he passed away, describing how she had listened to him "laughing and joking".
She portrayed him as a "compassionate, affectionate" boy, and said her "relatives is totally devastated".
He had been "clearly hiding his worries", she stated, noting that he could not stand to have anybody "think bad of him".
The inquest heard from school personnel at the local High School.
On 8 November, she "heard some students talking that the student had been arrested and that was the first I heard".
"He told me... he'd was innocent," she added.
After the discussion, the educator said she called Kai's family telephone and left a voicemail saying she had spoken to Kai about the accusations.
The proceedings learned his parents said they never got that communication.
Senior coroner told the inquest he would await documents regarding what enhancements had been made to dealing with individuals with the condition, before deciding whether he should make a avoidance of subsequent fatalities report.
Providing a descriptive conclusion, he stated: "Around November 8th, 2021, unsupported allegations were made against Kai Benjamin Lloyd, a 14-year-old individual.
"Likely falsehoods were subsequently exaggerated and exaggerated through the medium of social media.
"On 11 November, he was questioned by the authorities and following his interview he was freed while investigations proceeded."
The official concluded: "Exists no proof that the actions or failures of any organization led to or added to his death and although it was the outcome of a self-inflicted act it is impossible to determine his purpose."
